My, how time flies.
After breaking my hip in April when a ladder slipped out beneath me while decorating, life became pretty complicated for a while.
A stay of 9 days in hospital was followed by a period in bed, then wheelchair, then zimmer frame, then crutches. It was like ageing in reverse.
Needless to say, this disrupted my painting life quite a bit. I normally stand to paint and walk back and forth between brushstokes which was impossible. It's a huge relief to be up and running and producing pictures again. As well as indulging my passion for renovating my home (see January's announcement).
In April I finished my largest painting to date, 'Magdalena'. Painted in a small room upstairs, whose walls were painted with arsenic sometime before they knew better, it marked the start of a new direction for me and was therefore even more frustrating that this had to be put on hold while I convalesed.
